LA VIRTÚ DI NON ESSERE PIÚ
photographic series (2014 - 2018)
La virtù di non essere più (2018) is a series of photographs inspired by Fernando Pessoa’s The Book of Disquiet.
By composing these images I tried to represent the desire of escaping from ourselves: not conservation but forgetfulness, not documentation but abstraction, not memory but imagination; I believe that all of us, as human beings, after all, have already felt the desire of dissolution. A flash of an ideal, even if romantic, must already have crossed everyone’s mind: “What if I disappear, vanish?”. The project was part of a collective exhibition at PHOS art gallery, in Turin, and it won the Public's Award as the best work, on March 2020.
